Athys II

In this model, the brands characteristic ellipso-curvex case houses a mechanical ultra-thin Fr?d?ric Piguet movement beating to the cadence of 12,600 vibrations per hour. It was originally designed for 1950s pocket-watches and has been tailored to the demands of wristwatches. Another special feature of this mechanism is the small seconds at 9 oclock that is part of the main going train, thereby avoiding any interference due to the play of gears such as occurs with an indirect small seconds wheel. Moreover, it consists of a three-armed hand giving it a substantial size that required a dedicated empty space to be created within the case middle at 9 oclock. The hours are indicated in Roman numerals, and the minutes on a dedicated railtrack with Arabic numerals. Small seconds are shown over three concentric arcs of a circle dividing 60 seconds into three equal parts successively pointed to by three hands of decreasing size. Transparent sapphire case-back. Brown alligator leather strap with gold pin buckle. Water-resistant to 30 metres.
